Pokémon Starters Ranked By Cuteness: In the Pokémon series, choosing a starter is the first step in a trainer’s journey. The choices are normally divided into three categories: Grass, Fire, and Water. Each of the eight Pokémon regions has its own starter species. And most of them are very cute in their basic, pre-evolve states. While choosing a starter solely on the basis of appearance can lead to type conflicts in battle later on. Choosing a companion who a trainer finds personally appealing will make the journey through the Pokémon region more enjoyable.
There are currently 25 starter Pokémon available, including the electric mouse Pikachu. Some starters, such as Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle; have a special place in the hearts of fans due to their long-term contributions to the Pokémon franchise. Others, such as the Galarian starters, have only been with the series for a short time. And are still establishing a fan base. Despite this, in comparison to previous generations, recent regions such as Galar and Alola have had some especially cute starters to pair up with.
Pokémon Starters Ranked: Cyndaquil
Cyndaquil is the Fire-starter for the Johto area in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and will soon appear as a starter in Legends: Arceus. Cyndaquil’s best feature is its head shape. It has an absurdly long nose and closed eyes, giving the impression that it is still smiling. It can spit flame from its back while fighting or angry. Cyndaquil evolves into the strong Fire-type Pokémon Typhlosion after losing its cute appearance.
Pokémon Starters Ranked: Froakie
In Pokémon X and Y, Froakie is the Water-type starter for the Kalos area. Although frogs might not be everyone’s idea of cute, Froakie does have a cute style. Frubbles, a series of sticky bubbles that appear on its shoulders and ears, is one of its features. Froakie has the ability to fling its Frubbles at opponents or surfaces, which is also very cute.
Pokémon Starters Ranked: Chikorita
In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, Chikorita is the Grass-type starter for the Johto area. Chikorita looks like a mix of a puppy, a dinosaur, and a leaf. Chikorita has a thumb-sized head and a small lump of a tail that makes her endearing. Instead of evolving into something amazing, it simply acquires new decorations, such as Meganium’s flower necklace.
Pokémon Starters Ranked: Pikachu
In Pokémon Yellow and Let’s Go Pikachu, Pikachu is a starter in the Kanto region. Although many fans debate whether Pikachu is a true Pokémon starter, it is frequently included as a Kantonian choice with official merchandise. With its red cheeks and plucky smile, Pikachu is cute. Pikachu has remained a prominent Pokémon in the series, serving as an official mascot since the anime’s first appearance.
Pokémon Starters Ranked: Torchic
Torchic is the Fire-type starter in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, hailing from the Hoenn regino. Instead of an open mouth, the tiny bird has a ruff of orange feathers and a small beak. Torchic is a cute choice for a travelling partner because of his oversized feet. Blaziken, its final evolution, is also very cute, despite having a tough Fire/Fighting style.
