Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is the official title for the highly awaited sequel to Black Panther. After his smash 2018 blockbuster, which was both critical and box office success for Marvel Studios; director Ryan Coogler will return to the MCU. Though Chadwick Boseman will not reprise his role as King T’Challa after his untimely death in 2020. But the world he inhabited will live on in the sequel.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hollywood and the rest of the world had a turbulent year. The global health crisis brought the industry to a halt. With protocols placed in place to stem the spread of the disease, including the closure of theatres. To comply with these rules, Marvel Studios had to reschedule their announced Phase 4 slate several times. However, as businesses such as cinemas reopen, the MCU is sticking to its original strategy. And a new trailer for the franchise has been released to get people excited about what they have in store.
The video titled ‘Marvel Studios Celebrates The Movies’ was posted to Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel. It includes a slew of clips from previous and upcoming films. It also reveals the official title of Coogler’s highly awaited MCU sequel; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as the logo for the sequel.

To honour Boseman’s memory, Marvel Studios announced that the role of T’Challa would not be recast. Expect the plot of Black Panther 2 to have been rewritten to represent the actor’s death. It’s unclear how Coogler intends to justify the king of Wakanda’s absence in the future. But everyone involved in the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever knows they have to be extra cautious; about how they continue the MCU sub-franchise without its leading character. Given that filming for the film has yet to begin; it’s fair to assume that the public will have to wait a while; before learning plot details about the highly awaited film.
However, the newly revealed title might give a hint as to what to expect from the blockbuster. Rather than concentrating on a particular character; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever suggests that it will take a broad look at Wakanda as a whole. Though T’Challa was undoubtedly the star of the first film. Coogler also created an intriguing world around him; complete with a number of intriguing characters who can be fleshed out in the sequel. The encouraging response to Ayo; from the Dora Milaje’s appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a driving force behind this. Other than the country’s special forces, there are other groups worth investigating, such as M’Baku’s Jabari Tribe.
